PAL video resolution is typically 720x576 pixels for standard definition, using 625 interlaced lines at 25 frames per second (576i/25), providing a higher vertical resolution than NTSC (720x480) but a lower frame rate, resulting in a 50Hz signal (25 fps) compatible with European power grids. While the raw frame size is 5:4, it's often displayed as 4:3 (720x540) or stretched to 16:9 widescreen on modern displays.
